

Jesse Bowyer Creasey, Jr., affectionately called J.B., 80, of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends. He was the loving husband of Mary Leanna Childress Burns Creasey.
Born on November 19, 1934, in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Jesse B. Creasey, Sr. and Dorothy Hodges Creasey.
J.B. retired from the Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. His passions in life were gardening, working, church, and, most of all, his family. J.B. planted more than just a plentiful garden — he sowed the values of hard work, unconditional love, and selfless service into each of his family members. The resulting harvest will be bountiful for years to come.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Ray Creasey, and two sisters, Phyllis Goodman and Mildred Marshall.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Leanna Creasey; children, Mark Creasey and wife, Susan, Rhonda Jordan and husband, Leslie, Bryan and wife, Lisa, Ricky Burns and wife, Christy; nine grandchildren, Mark II, Cory, Jessica, Austin, Breanna, Morgan Brown and husband, Nick, Stuart Burns and Katie, Carrie and Jeremy Huff; one great grandchild, Kimmysue Burns; two sisters, Lucille Fitzgerald and husband, Ryland, Myrtle Bowles and husband, Raymond; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Rev. Carl Weiser officiating. Private interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 9:30 a.m.
