
Lawrence was born on May 23, 1946, in Lynchburg, VA, a son of the late Louise Witt Ford and Lawrence Burton Ford. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during Vietnam Era. He retired as a painter from Jimmy Coleman. Along with his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by two sisters: Maurelia Ragland and Janice Banton.
Lawrence is survived by his son, Jessee Eugene Ford, of Lynchburg, his two sisters: Shirley Smith, and her husband Mike, and Jean Blankenship, all of Lynchburg; his two brothers: Kenneth Ford, and his wife Joyce, of Madison Heights, and Nicky Ford, and his wife Blanche, of Campbell County; his half-siblings, Derhonda Ford, Dennis Ford, Donald Ford, and Teresa; and devoted friends, Patsy Hamilton and family, and Tommy Tyree, and his friend Pat; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 6:00 pm at Our Father’s House, 131 Old Colony Road, Madison Heights, with Rev. Shane Branham officiating.
