She leaves three sons and their wives: John M. and Dawn of Fort Wayne IN and Ponte Vedra Beach FL; Keller and Joann of Georgetown DE; and Eaton and Rebecca of Honey Brook PA. In addition, she is survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her brother, Jack Parker and his wife Lorrie of Virginia Beach, VA. She attended Goldey-Beacom College and married John Hopkins in 1956. She and her husband founded Comfort, Inc., a mechanical contracting business that served the Delmarva Peninsula for 25 years. They were affiliated with various Christian organizations, including being charter members of the original group who established WOLC, a Christian radio station on the Eastern Shore. For many years, she enjoyed hosting dinners, Bible studies, weddings, and prayer groups for their church, Family Ministries, at their home, Peaceful Acres in Bridgeville, DE. She shared her love for music playing piano, harp, guitar and as a vocalist. She also enjoyed directing children’s choirs in the Bridgeville area. In retirement, they enjoyed sailing “Morning Star” throughout the Virgin Islands. It was their pleasure to have shared many times aboard with friends and relatives. Since her husband’s passing in 2007, Lou Ann has resided in Sarasota, FL. She attended The Tabernacle Church and enjoyed supporting and serving Solve Maternity Homes. Her friends and family were blessed by her gift of hospitality for many years. Due to the CDC restrictions on gatherings, a Celebration of Life service will be announced in the future.
