Louise Baber Drinkard

Louise Baber Drinkard, age 74 widow of George Paul Drinkard, passed away on August 2, 2018.
She was born in Campbell County on April 17, 1944, daughter of the late Richard William Baber and the late Sara Mason Baber.
Louise was a member of In His Hands Ministries and was retired from CB Fleet. Louise loved to cook as well as enjoying gardening and coloring in her color books.
In addition to her parents and husband George, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Childress and five sisters, Virginia Lambert, Elizabeth Saunders, Dorothy Thomason, Betty Smith and Cora Baber.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Steuart and husband Eddie, Jr.; her constant companion of twenty years, Sherman Ridgeway; a brother, R.W. Baber; a sister, Sylvia Nelson; four grandchildren, Brandon Morrison, Cody Steuart, Chelsey Childress, and Kayla Childress; three great grandchildren, Hayden Morrison, Sophia Thompson, and Addysen Flynt as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving K-9 companions, Kipper and Little Bit.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the dedicated staff of the Hospice of Central Virginia for the care that they gave Louise.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with Pastor Stewart Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am – 11:45 am on Friday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1701 Thomson Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501
