Mary Gillette Leonard

Born in Clifton Forge, October 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles Enos Gillette and Mary Ellen Shafer Gillette. She and her husband were co-owners of Leonard Tire Company and she was a former member of the Liberty University Board of Regents and Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Leonard Shaner and her son, Howard Wayne Leonard. She is survived by three grandchildren, Brad Shaner and his wife Peggy, Joe Shaner and Jamie Shaner and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Schemely, Autumn Shaner and Bradley Shaner.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell and Dr. Elmer Towns officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
