Born June 8, 1937 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late George and Maude Leverton Svec. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Jenkins; three sisters, Dorothy Catherine Auwen, Ruth Mary Roppelt, and Veronica Lee Svec and a brother, Willis William Svec. Mrs. Jenkins was a retired Registered Nurse with Lynchburg General Hospital. She was a member of the Lynchburg Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by four children, Paul F. Jenkins, Jr. (Susan), Elizabeth Jenkins (Bill), Glenn Jenkins (Susan), and Laura Bowen (Jimmy); eight grandchildren, Scott Gordon, Michael Gordon, Mary Nicholson (Ethan), Grayson Jenkins, Carter Jenkins, Christopher Jenkins (Brittany) Katie Maloney (Jim) and Eric Bowen. Seven great grandchildren and four nieces also survive her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Jenkins, will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Chaplin Wayne Lanham officiating.
