He was preceded in death by his parents; Steven Allgaier and Esther Bloomquist.
Richard was an accountant, Wall Street investor, sports enthusiast, an outspoken donor for the University of Mary Washington, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed many, many years of traveling the world, watching the stock market daily, playing Jeopardy, and golfing.
But of all the titles in his life, Richard was always proudest of being a father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Richard’s signature wit and humor will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him—he will be profoundly cherished by his family and many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
The family and close friends extend a heartfelt thank you to his compassionate caregivers who made it possible for Richard to have his wish of passing peacefully at home, comforted by his Priest who administered Funeral Holy Unction and by the presence of his loyal and very devoted friend Janice.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s name may be made to St. Alban’s Anglican Church, 625 W Lady Lake Blvd, Lady Lake, FL 32159
A graveside service will be held at New Chapel Baptist Church, located at 1977 New Chapel Rd, Rustburg, Virginia, on November 11, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm.
