Born June 28, 1968 in Lynchburg he was the son of the late Clyde and Jerry Martin Mays. Before his illness, Rodney was employed with Sentry Equipment.
Rodney is survived by his daughter, Ashley Nicole Mays of Georgia; his loving sister and caregiver, Barbara Norquest and her husband, John, sister, Brenda Grammer and her husband, David, and sister, Linda Wise; brother, Ricky Mays and his wife, Taffney; special friend and support, Jody Trevey; lifelong friend, Mitch Mawyer; and a number of other loving family members and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions made in Rodney’s honor to Goode Volunteer Rescue Squad, 9261 Forest Road, Goode, VA 24556.
