Roger Leroy Shannon

Roger Leroy Shannon, 78, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his residence. He was the husband of Rosemary Shannon and late Ruby Shannon. Born in Baltimore, MD on October 7, 1942 he was a son of the late Samuel Shannon and Lavina Shannon. He was a retired self-employed brick mason and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran holding the rank of Sergeant. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Geer and two brothers, Edward and Charles. In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Christine Abbott and her husband John of Rustburg and Harold “Lynwood” Leonard and his wife Ycolette of Victoria; a sister, Emma Geer of Tennessee; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
