Ronald was born in Lynchburg, September 12, 1959 and was a 1977 graduate of E.C. Glass High School where he played baseball and following graduation received a full scholarship to play baseball for Liberty University. His love of sports lead to a 25 year career of coaching area high school sports teams. He was a retired P.E. instructor from the Bedford County Schools. His love of the outdoors led him to starting R & C’s Lawn care and Landscaping. He was a lifelong member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. His favorite place to vacation with his family was Disney World. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his father, Horace William McGuire and his brother-in-law, Troy Arthur.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his mother, Nancy Jones McGuire; three children, Heather Stoehr and her husband Clint, Krystal Dalrymple and her husband Luke and Casey McGuire and his wife Sarah; one sister, Angie Arthur Diemer and her husband Curt and six grandchildren, Madalyne Stoehr, Collin Dalrymple, Lillian Stoehr, Carson Dalrymple, Kinsley Dalrymple, Dalton McGuire and soon to be Tate McGuire.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
