

Sunday, December 27, 2015 our loved one “Roy Kent Riggleman” passed from this life on Earth and into glory.
Free from pain and anguish, no more tears to shed, his days now filled with happiness on a fluffy cloud bed.
Born June 4, 1962 he was a son of the late Mason Keith Riggleman, Sr. and Mae Pugh Riggleman Surber (stepfather Edward, deceased).
Grandson of the late Edgar Staples and Mary Flossie Pugh. And the late Mason Harrison Riggleman and Clara Carter Riggleman Rowland.
In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his wife, Beth Ann, a daughter Layla, two sons, Christopher and Harrison. Brother, Mason Riggleman, Jr (Lynn),
Sisters, Cynthia Creasy (Thomas), Deborah Murphy, and Tamara Butler. A stepsister, Melody Morris, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces,
great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Roy Kent completed his high school education and immediately enlisted in the Marine Corp. Retiring at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant after over 27 years of service. During this time he received many decorations/medals/badges/citations and campaign ribbons: Navy
Commendation Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Navy Unit Commendation; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Good Conduct Medal (7THAWD); National Defense Service Medal; Southeast Asia Service Medal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2NDAWD); Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Ribbon; Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait); Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia); Letter of Appreciation (2); Meritorious Mast (4); Certificate of Commendation; Coast Guard Special Ops Service Ribbon; Cold War Medal; Rifle Expert Badge (6THAWD); Pistol Expert Badge (4THAWD); SNCO ADV CRS (T8H); SNCO Career CRS (T8A); Instructor Training CRS (XRG); Warfighting Skills PRG (M82). Upon his military retirement Roy Kent began a second career in the field of Security.
Roy Kent loved Nascar, hunting, and fishing. But most of all, he loved his family.
A faithful servant of God; a dedicated Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and friend who was, and will forever be, deeply loved by all who knew him. He would greet you with a bright smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes. We cherish the memories, the love, and the laughter we shared.
In addition to his Father, Stepfather and Grandparents, Roy Kent was predeceased by his first wife, Mother of his son Christopher, Rhonda Sturm Riggleman, and his brother-in-law Lawrence Ennis. And a special cousin (who was like a brother to him), Michael Eugene Pugh.
Family visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 3 to 5 pm at Whitten Funeral Services, Park Avenue, Lynchburg, VA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 2 pm at Shekinah Glory Baptist Church located at 5434 Pleasant Valley Road, Lynchburg, VA 24504. Rev. Carlton Dunn Sr officiating.
Interment will follow at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery, Rustburg, VA.
