Shirley James Moore

Born August 28, 1939 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Preston Tweedy and Daisy Tweedy James. She was retired from GE/Ericsson, was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

Shirley is survived by three children, Stephen James and wife Julie of Western Cape, South Africa, Annette Barbour, and Vicky James, both of Lynchburg; three step-children, Pamela Glanville and husband Fred, Dennis Moore and wife Cherie, and Paula Bergdall and husband Paul; four grandchildren, Christopher Cavey, Anya James, Preston James, and Sterling James; one step-grandson, Peter Glanville and Shirley’s former husband, Bill R. James.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Moore Family Cemetery in Appomattox County.

The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, from 9-10 a.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg.
