Shirley Wooldridge Tucker

Shirley Wooldridge Tucker, 90, of Concord, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home, Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was the wife of the late Norman R. “Buddy” Tucker for 70 years.

Born July 29, 1930 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Etta Harris Wooldridge and was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Seay and brothers Thomas “Pete” Wooldridge and Hubert Wooldridge. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stephanie Augis. She was retired from Craddock & Terry Shoe Corporation and was a member of Fairview Christian Church.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Teresa Sandifer and husband Keith and Donna Nash, all of Concord; one son, Danny Tucker and wife Darlene of Amherst. A sister, Jewell Moon of Stuarts Draft and a brother, Edward Wooldridge of Lynchburg. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Jamie Staten, Valerie Greenwood, Mary Stanley, Ivy Henry, Allison Brooks, Donald Dieffenbach, and Sarah Augis, and eight great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Centra Health Hospice, especially Rachel, Kim and Patty for the wonderful love and care they provided for Shirley. We would also like to thank a special friend, Vickie Moon for the loving care she gave to Shirley.

A memorial service will be held at Fairview Christian Church, on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Gary Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
