Sylvia White Hudson Guerich

Sylvia White Hudson Guerich, 71, of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Avante at Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Charles Jordan Hudson, Sr. and the late Edward Anthony “Gigot” Guerich.

Born in Lynchburg on August 28, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rev. John Albert White and Lillian “Ruth” Swanson White.

Sylvia was a graduate of Central Virginia Community College in 1984 with an Associate Degree in General Clerical Study and later received her CNA license. She was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and served the Lord by dedicating her life to being a caregiver to many.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, E.C. Hudson and wife Cindy of Farmville, Jeffrey L. Hudson and wife Katheryn of Lynchburg, and John Michael Hudson of Lynchburg; her grandchildren, Ashleigh L. Hudson, Tessleigh M. Hudson, Charles Jordan Hudson, II, Michael Thomas Cyrus and wife Roxanne, and John Wayne Cyrus and wife Jennifer; her great grandchild, Emma, Ella, Easton, Ian, and the late Evan; her sister, Elizabeth W. Tribble and Robert of Richmond; her nephews, Donald Keith Lewis and wife Theresa, and Gregory Todd Lewis and wife Diane; her niece, Linda Coleman Grey and husband Jerry; the Coles family; the Lawhorne family; and numerous other family members.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Virginia Baptist Hospital, Avante of Lynchburg, and UVA for their dedicate care and support to Sylvia.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A funeral service will be held at Thomas Road Baptist Church in the Pate Chapel on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 12 pm with the Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Memorial Park.
