Thomas Henry Nickerson Sr.

Born on November 13, 1948 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late John Nickerson and the late Lou Ann Wilson Nickerson. Thomas retired from the Rivanna Company. He was an avid huntsman, fisherman, and gardener. Thomas was a loving father, uncle, and devoted husband and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Russell James Nickerson.

Thomas is survived by his children, Thomas Nickerson, Jr. and wife Sheryl, John E. Nickerson and wife Rachel, and Michael E. Nickerson and wife Mary; six grandchildren, Lillian Cheyenne Nickerson Hooper, Autumn Nickerson, Kayla S. Nickerson, Lukas Bearce, Parker Bearce and Elena Nickerson; brothers, James Nickerson and wife Joan and Bobby Nickerson and wife Treva; sister, Mary Allan; and numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Nickerson Family Cemetery with Rev. Ed Volt officiating.
