
William Morris Hawkins, 85, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Lewis Hawkins.
Born April 4, 1925 in Gladys, he was the son of the late Walter William and Evelyn Morris Hawkins and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Langford. He was a retired salesman with True Value Hardware Store, a U.S. Army veteran of World War 11, and a member of Parkview United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by one daughter, Wanda Hawkins (Alan) of Lynchburg; one sister, Barbara Dillon of Forest and two grandchildren, Michael Lee Langford (Wendy) and Kristin Wooldridge.
A graveside service, with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Wesleybury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gladys with the Rev. Steve Propst officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., today, November 2, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
