

Wilma was born on December 1, 1949, in Lynchburg, Va. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Willard Adcock and Effie Hicks Johns. In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Edward Brooks; her second husband, William Lee Hensley; four brothers; and two sisters.
She retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia (DCSE) after 30 years of dedicated service. Wilma was also a faithful member of Langhorne Chapel.
She is survived by her daughter, Christie Brooks Bowles (Brent); her son, Charles Raymond Brooks (Chyril); and her former daughter-in-law, Teresa Brooks. Her beloved grandchildren include Amber Brooks, Zachary Campbell, Amanda Pitts (Tyler), Karlee Adcock, and Kaeden Bowles. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Aiden Pitts, Paislee Brooks, Wesson Pitts, and Brinley Campbell; as well as her siblings Wayne Johns, Roger Johns (Lisa), Evelyn Matthews (Patrick), Margaret Pentecost (Robert), and Jessie Peters (Greg).
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dwight Weaver officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
