Alford was born on June 6, 1948 in Honey Grove, Texas to parents Leland Perkins and Charleen Phelps and entered into eternal rest on July 4, 2015 at the age of 67. Alford was an avid reader. He especially liked to read books about war, military and cars. Alford loved fixing things; he was a handyman and enjoyed working on old cars. He was a loving and caring man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alford was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son Bobby Doty of Rowlett, son Aaron Perkins and wife Lynelle of Greenville, son Greg Dombrowski and wife Ana of Laredo, daughter Debbie Helmberger and husband Joe of Farmersville, daughter Dana Hajder and husband Todd of Mansfield, grandchildren; Taylor, Garrett, Brooke, Duane, Tim, Allyson, Jared, Kristen, Stephanie, Chester, Nolan, Karlee, Shayden, Davis, Dillan and Sophia, other loving family members and many more friends.
