
Mrs. Betty Jane Farmer, of Dallas, passed away on April 19, 2015 at the age of 83. Betty was born on December 23, 1931 in Bryan County, GA to parents Sam B. Shuman and Nellie Viola Strickland Shuman. She was a wonderful cook; she was known for her banana split pastry. Betty loved Sunday dinners with her family; where she would prepare the meal. It might have been her Green Apple Salad, delicious pot roast or a turkey. It was all wonderful. Betty loved taking road trips to visit her family in Georgia. She loved to gardening and being outside. Betty would say; “I’m so happy this is my Heaven” while looking at her flower gardens and bird feeders. She loved the sound of her wind chimes. Betty worked 30 years as a bonder at Texas Instruments; she had a great work ethic. She was a Christian woman; who was very loving and caring. Betty will be missed immensely by her family and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, baby sister Grace Shuman and brother-in-law Doug Ellis. She is survived by her husband of 53 years; John Farmer, son Richard Monroe and wife Maria, son Billy Monroe and wife Lynn, son Daniel Monroe and wife Cindy, daughter Carolyn Shaw and husband Billy, grandkids; John, Lisa, Richard, Sara, Liza, Daniel Jr., Robert, Misty and Cara, numerous great-grandchildren, sister Audrey Ellis, sister Linda Sims and husband Dewey, special aunt Mildred Strickland, numerous nieces and nephew, other loving family members and many more friends.
