Betty Joyce Hendrix

Betty Joyce Hendrix was born to parents Floyd Elgey Smith and Mary Louise Aikman of Dallas,Tx. on November 2, 1941. Betty went to be with her lord and savior on November 2, 2021 surrounded by her family and friends in the comfort of her home. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She spent her time going to senior centers in Mabank Tx, where she played cards and Bingo with fellow friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Betty also loved music; she loved Elvis, the king of rock and roll. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, she was spending time with her dog, Pearl. She adored that dog and spoiled her with love and affection. Betty Hendrix will be truly missed by her entire family and the memories she had made with them will be forever alive in the hearts.

Betty Joyce Hendrix is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Elgey Smith and Mary Louise Aikman; Sisters, Margie Faye Elder, Mary Frances Poston and Donna Sue Bishop; along with her grandson, Samuel Beckett Honaker.

Betty is survived by her four loving children; daughter Vickie and husband Richard Cowin of Mabank, Tx.; daughter, Lisa Stinnett-Smith of Mabank,Tx.; daughter, Christy Scherer and husband Joel Scherer of Gun Barrel City Tx.; son, Christian Hendrix of Dallas,Tx.; Eight grandchildren, Cyrena and husband Anthony Stewart of Gun Barrel City Tx.; Shana Cockrell and husband Chris of Mabank Tx., Shady Honaker and husband Don of Louisiana, Kortney and husband Cooper Clayburn of Gun Barrel City, Tx., Kalee Sherer of Gun Barrel City, Tx., Alli and husband Bobby Brown of Alabama, Mady Scherer of Gun Barrel City, Tx., and Austin Smith of Mabank, Tx. Her loving 15 great grandchildren, Kaden, Rylan, Milee, Oakley, Beckham, Camden, Landon, Stella, Luke, Emmy, Elliott, Mardi, Scarlett, Danni and Xavier,; sisters, Kay Gaston of Malakoff, Tx. and Connie Jackson and husband Ricky of Dallas, Tx.; brother, Jimmy Chesire of Lancaster, Tx.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A visitation service will be held in the Chapel at 10:00am at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am officiated by Reverend Jonathan Lilly, then a Graveside service at Tool Cemetery.
