Dempsey Earl Hawkins was born on January 19, 1939 in Wills Point, Texas to parents William Thomas and Gladys Lucille (Gibson) Hawkins and entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2019 at the age of 80. Dempsey was an avid reader and enjoyed telling stories. He was crazy about the Dallas Cowboys. He had a great sense of humor and loved being around people, especially his family. Dempsey was an artist, oil paintings mostly. He was a big fan of Willie Nelson. Dempsey was an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dempsey was preceded in death by his parents and his son Mark Hall.
He is survived by his children; Vanessa Smith of Euless, Marie Hawkins of Payne Springs, Michelle Hawkins-Adley of Euless and Joaquin Hawkins of Gun Barrel City, six grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brothers; Harry Hawkins and wife Judy of Cedar Hill and Roland Hawkins and wife Connie of Dallas, sister Aliene Bledsaw of Kemp, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
