Douglas Abraham Blumenthal entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2020 at the age of 52 at his home in Sumter, South Carolina. Doug was born on February 11, 1968 in Dallas, Texas to parents Ernest and Carolyn (Dunn) Blumenthal. He grew up and attended school in Richardson, TX, graduating from Richardson High School in 1986. Doug spent many years learning various martial arts and had a brown belt in Ju-Jitsu. He loved both indoor and outdoor gardening and growing Bonsai Trees; and he always designed a Japanese Garden in each home he lived in. Most recently, Doug had taken up designing and building miniature doll houses. Doug always had a love for animals, from his first dog, Jerome; to Shing-Shing, his Rhodesian Ridgeback; and finally, Mousie and Nibblett, the chihuahuas, who will miss him dearly. Doug was Jewish by faith. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Doug will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father.
Doug is survived by his son Blade Blumenthal of Mooresville, North Carolina, mother Carolyn Bland of Eustace, Texas, sister Wendy Blumenthal White of Eustace, Texas, brother David Ernest Blumenthal and wife Fujiko of Bangkok, Thailand, nieces Haley Blakely of Eustace, Texas, and Sarah Blumenthal of Bangkok, Thailand, nephew Deven White of Artesia, New Mexico, special friend Meloni Daly of Sumter, South Carolina, numerous cousins and other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
A Memorial Service for Douglas Abraham Blumenthal will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, 601 State Hwy 198, in Mabank, Texas with Bro. Jonathan Haygood officiating.
