Gene was born on September 30, 1928 in Roddy Community to parents Henry Pleasant Hyde and Macy Roddy and entered into eternal rest on February 10, 2016 at the age of 87. Gene graduated from Mabank High School in 1946 as the Salutatorian. He went into farming and ranching; which he did all his life. Gene also was a painter; he painted many of the homes around Mabank. He enjoyed the outdoors; Gene loved hunting and fishing. He liked reading a good book and listening to Blue Grass music. Gene was a lifetime member of the NRA, Roddy Masonic Lodge; where her was past Master, Hella Temple, Scottish Rite and Easter Star in Mabank; and was a past Patron. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mabank, TX. Gene was a very loving and caring man who will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved him.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorthy Hyde of Mabank, sister-in-law Florence Eddlemon of Eustace, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
