Gloria Jean Garland Capps

Ms. Capps passed away July 28, 2023 in Mabank. She was born September 11, 1943 in Houston to John and Avis Venetha Garling Garland.

Jean was a very Godly woman. She was a very helpful and giving person. She enjoyed playing games of all kinds. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Jean loved her animals, watching birds and running off squirrels every chance she could. She was an amazing woman who was not only strong, but strong willed. She endured the loss of spouses, parents, siblings, son and great-grandson; yet she still had more faith than anyone.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, John and Avis Garland; brother, Doug Garland; sister, Sheila Karm; son Daryal Purdy; and great-grandson, Jaylin McFadden.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Lynn Purdy Bradley and her husband, Alan Bradley; six grandchildren: Stephanie Sanders and Brandi Sanders, Megan Purdy, D.J. Purdy and Vivi, Breanna Purdy O'Neal and Grayson, Savana Purdy, and Stephen Richardson; six great-grandchildren: Kira, Leala, Everly, Jack, Zadon, and Lilianna; sister, Myra Wooten; and many other nieces and nephews.
