

Helen was born on December 18, 1924 in Aley, Texas to parents Ross and Florence (Hancock) Greenhaw and entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2017 at the age of 92. Helen graduated from Mabank High School in 1942. She married the love of her life, Ralph Lacy, in Kemp, Texas on March 31, 1944. Helen was a feisty lady who was never at a loss for words. You always knew where you stood with her. Helen worked as a hairdresser back in the 60’s. She was an excellent cook and if you went by her house, you were having coffee and dessert. She always had a special treat especially for those who called her “Granny”. Helen enjoyed playing Bingo and crocheting. She liked watching her game shows, Fox News and Dr. Charles Stanley. Helen loved reading and was always in the middle of a good book. She especially loved reading her daily devotionals. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and visiting with her neighbors. Helen was very social and outgoing and she attended church at the First United Methodist Church in Mabank and Aley. She loved going to church and Bible study. Helen was an exceptional lady who was loved by all and will be missed tremendously.
Helen was preceded by her parents, son Ben Lacy, and husband Ralph, whom she was married to for 69 years until his passing in 2013.
She is survived by her daughter Alana Nowell and husband David of Kemp, daughter Lauren Lacy and husband Steven Funderberg of Austin, son Ralph Lowell Lacy and wife Rose of Winnsboro, daughter-in-law Sandra Lacy of Kemp, grandson Ronald Nelson of Mabank, granddaughter Rachel Reeder and husband Forest of Irving, granddaughter Heather Lockwood and husband Tim of Plano, grandson John Lacy of Kemp, granddaughter Jamie Lacy of Dallas, granddaughter Meagan Lacy of Mabank, grandson Martin Whitton and wife McKayla of Lorena, grandson Matt Whitton of Waco, granddaughter Lacy Whitton of Austin, granddaughter Candace Lacy of Keller, grandson Allen Lacy and wife, Veronica of Houston and grandson Justin Lacy of Dallas, ten great-grandchildren, sister Zola Gardner of Kemp, other loving family members and many more friends.
