Celebration of life services for Jerry Byron Hughey, 75, of Mabank, Texas will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas with Pastor David Jordan officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Monday evening, January 13, from 4 pm - 6 pm at the funeral home.
Jerry passed from this life on January 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 19, 1949, in Mabank, Texas to Robin Leroy and Floy Oneta (Black) Hughey. Jerry grew up attending school in Mabank before joining the United States Army, becoming a Vietnam veteran and recipient of a bronze star for meritorious action in combat. He was a very creative person who enjoyed yard projects and flower beds throughout life. He loved spending time with his adored family and driving fast cars for fun. Jerry married his beautiful Rebecca on August 3, 1979, and they shared 45 blessed years together.
Jerry is preceded by his parents, Leroy and Oneta Hughey. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hughey; sons: Jerry Holleman and his wife, Michelle, Nathaniel Felts, and Dustin Hughey; daughters: Amanda Kulsa and husband Philip, Candice Hughey; grandchildren: Madisen, Cadence, Brand, Dylan, Gracie, Kyleigh, Sammy; brothers: Roy Hughey, Douglas Hughey; and numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Felts, Dustin Hughey, Philip Kulsa, Cadence Sims, Brand Felts and Dylan Hughey.
