John Foster Deatherage, son of Weldon Foster and Mabel Deatherage, was born on January 10,1925 in Clovis, New Mexico. John passed away on May 16, 2020 at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his wife Beth. He is survived by his sister Phyllis Voltin ( husband Mark) and brother Lewis Deatherage ( wife Ella). He is survived by his children Stephen Deatherage (wife Shawn Lofstrom), Kathryn Szwejkowski (husband John), Mary Ann Bass, Richard Deatherage, grandchildren Kristi Humphries (husband Matt), Melissa Bass, Jennifer Szwejkowski, great grandchildren Austin and Collin Humphries, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, May 29th at the Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, TX from 3pm-5pm and will be followed by a rosary at 5pm. On Saturday, May 30th at 11am a funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City, TX followed by reception at the church. Graveside service will follow at 5pm at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
