June McFaul Shrader

Born on August 30, 1944, in the community of Odom, Texas, June was a daughter of the late Joseph Donald McFaul and the late Sylvia Barlow McFaul.

She was a 1962 graduate of Kemp High School in Kemp, Texas. She was a Christian and loved horses, reading, and family. She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, and “Grams.” She retired from Cook’s Children’s Hospital after many years of service as an administrator in the Nursing Administration Department. She married O. B. Ray, Jr. of Kemp, Texas. They had one son, O. Barton “Bart” Ray. In 1972 she remarried Earl Stanley Shrader and were married nearly 50 years.

Along with her son, she is survived by her sister Jo Nell Baker and her husband, Pat, of Kaufman, Texas; stepchildren Marsha Ross of Fort Worth, Texas, Mike Shrader and his wife, Catherine, of Pine Valley, California, and Melinda Williams and her husband, Chris, of Madison, Alabama; grandsons Orrin Beau and Jennelle Ray of Nacogdoches, Texas, Jason Ross and his wife, Jennifer, of Fort Worth, Texas, James Whitbeck and his wife, Brittiny, of Toney, Alabama; granddaughters Christina Gaucus and her husband, Drake, of Madison, Alabama, and Saralynn McGragor and her husband, Robby, of Vancouver, Washington; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother Robert Allen McFaul and his wife, Shirley Collier McFaul; sisters Sarah Spiers and Alice Dorough; stepson Phillip Shrader; stepdaughter Sheree Barron and her husband, Tony; and grandson Jason Dunlap.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Kemp Cemetery in Kemp, Texas.
