Leona Lee Scott, age 83, of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. Leona was born January 25, 1939; to parents, Frank Gaskey and Roxie Henderson. She was such a remarkable mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a heart of gold. Leona loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren; whether fishing or watching them play in the yard. Some of her days were spent at Cochran's, having lunch and coffee with her friends. She was a proud mother of a United States Marine, Claude Scott Jr. and foster sister of an Army Veteran, Eric Jones. Memories of Leona will be cherished in her loving family's heart, as they recall her devotion and adoration throughout her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Gaskey and Roxie Henderson; brother, Lynndell Gaskey; and sister, Patricia Ann Gaskey.
Leona is survived by her children, Sue Sexton of New York; Russell Sexton of Tool, TX.; Becky Sexton of Las Vegas, NV.; Junior Scott of Gun Barrel City, TX.; brother, Calvin Gaskey; 17 Grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
