Mrs. Mary Ann Thomas

Mary Ann Thomas (Mame), 78, of Mabank, TX left this life on June 7, 2015. Mary Ann was born on March 17, 1937 to Charles Leo Wood and Mary Virginia Prigmore Wood in Aley , Henderson County, Texas. Mary Ann was a Christian, a member of the Church of Christ in Mabank. Mary Ann was a LVN and worked at the Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman for 20 plus years, until she retired in 2000. During her retirement she enjoyed her family, visiting with friends and talking to her sisters on the phone. Her favorite job after retirement was keeping her two grandsons. She always had a Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie and a glass of milk handy. She was a loving woman, wife, mother, mother-in-law, nanny, aunt and friend to those who knew her. She will be tremendously missed, but we know through our faith in Jesus Christ this isn’t goodbye, but a “See ya later”. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband; William Kenneth Bartley and son Kenneth Wayne Bartley. She is survived by her husband Homer Neil Thomas of 41 years, son Charles Neil Thomas and wife Kelley, grandsons; Caden Neil Thomas and Lucas Charles Thomas, all of Mabank, sisters Betty Joe Payne of Wills Point, TX, Mildred Deemie of Maryland, Charline Johnson of Tool, TX and Barbara Tharp and husband Evan of Gun Barrel City and brother Charles Wood and wife Susan of Katy,TX, brother-in-laws; Louis Thomas and wife Nellie of Mabank and Norman Thomas and wife June of Mabank, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.
