Melba Jean King, age 70, of Mabank, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Melba was born June 7, 1951 to parents, Ruby and Edward King. She was a delightful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Melba enjoyed browsing thrift stores and flea markets for great deals and rarities. Christian by faith, she attended Rise Up Church in Payne Springs. June 8, 2002 was the day of re-birth for Melba, when she decided to become an active member in recovery, joining Alcoholics Anonymous.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Edward King; 1 brother; and 8 sisters.
Melba is survived by her daughters, Teresa Weakley of Mabank and Melissa McCarty Davis of Blooming Grove; son, Jimmy Geffs of Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
