Melony Jane Mezzell (Watson) was born in Dallas, Texas to David and Barbara Lois Alsobrook. Melony passed away in Log Cabin, Texas at her home on June 30, 2021 with her husband and other loved ones at her side.
Melony was always the life of the party. She loved to laugh and have a good time no matter where she was. She loved people and loved to take everyone under her wing and make sure that they were taken care of. She always looked forward to spending time with her family whether it be in Oklahoma or Texas. Melony was a hardworking and dedicated stay at home mom where she was blessed to be able help take care of her husband and children often. Melony was an amazing cook and everyone looked forward to eating whatever she made especially her meatloaf that her husband will greatly miss.
She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Lois Alsobrook, and step-mother Gwen Watson; her grandparents John and Betty Watson; her two brothers David (Davey) Watson Jr., Hirshell Wayne Fletcher Jr. and her loving brother-in-law Jamie Hanson.
She is survived by her father David Alvis Watson Sr. of Gun Barrel City, TX; her loving husband of 37 years Charles Lee Mezzell of Log Cabin, TX; two daughters Breanna Michelle Mezzell and boyfriend Spencer and Angela LaChelle Nunn and husband David “Barry” Nunn; step-daughter Meaghan Carey; four sisters: Jayna Hyde and fiancé Luke Sanders, Fagelyn Self and Mikey, Shelly Hanson and Angie Huddle; 9 grandbabies: Gabrielle David Mezzell, Jason Ontman, Kaylee Payton, Mackenzi Payton, Alyssa Payton, David “Brett” Nunn, Harley Nunn, Lanie Nunn, Riley Nunn; 14 nieces and nephews: Mandy, Michael, Ashley, Joey, Kyle, Jeffrey, Janet, Jordan, Thomas, Kody, Jessica, Dakota, Christopher and Riley and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and other beloved family and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation for Melony will be held Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 6:30 PM at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, 601 S Third St., Mabank, Texas 75147. A funeral service will occur Monday, July 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM, 601 S Third St., Mabank, Texas 75147. A graveside service immediately following the service at Oakland Memorial Park located in Terrell, TX.
Serving as pallbearers are David Barry Nunn, Spencer Ray Scott, Thomas Hyde, Jason Ontman, James Kyle Hanson, Jeffrey Wayne Hanson, Jordan David Lee Hanson, Johnny Watson and Chris New.
