
Robert Dewitt Ware, Sr. of Malakoff passed away on April 13, 2022 in Athens, Texas. He was born June 8, 1954 in Odessa, TX to Murele W. Ware, Sr. and Betty Lou Landreth Ware. Mr. Ware is preceded in death by his father Murele Ware Sr. and stepmother, Bess; His mother Betty Lou Wright and stepfather James.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Barbara Burkeen and her husband, Brian; son, Robert D. Ware, Jr. and his wife, Cindy; daughter, Elizabeth Lawson and her partner, Jason Brewer; daughter, Amber Whitt and her husband, Steve; his brother Murele W. Ware, Jr. and wife, Sally. Also surviving him were his six grandchildren: Michael Jr., Claudia, Brooke, Savannah, Robert III and Bristol; two great-grandchildren: Michael III and Maelee along with a nephew and numerous cousins.
Robert graduated from Quinlan High School where he played football and sang in the choir. He retired from Pioneer Fasteners and Tools, Inc after 36 years of service but continued to work for them part-time until his passing. He enjoyed staying in touch with his customers as they had become close friends through the years.
Robert was a Baptist by faith and a longtime bass tournament fisherman. He and Ruby moved to Cedar Creek Lake when their youngest daughter graduated from high school, thus fulfilling a lifetime dream to live at the lake. Robert's other passion was softball. He never missed the opportunity to watch his daughter or grand-daughters whenever he got a chance whether playing rec ball, high school or college. He also took all of the grandchildren fishing every chance he got.
Robert was a good husband, a great Dad and the Best Papa / "Paw". We will miss him a lot, but we have great memories of our times with him.
