Sondra Kay Thomasson McAdams, 80, of Eustace, passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, April 25, 2021, in her home while comforted by family. Sondra was born December 24, 1940 in El Paso, TX. She was the daughter of the late William Clifford “Shorty” Thomasson and Garnia Tonita Rich “Jo” Palmer. She was a strong willed and passionate woman who loved unconditionally. She was the salt of the earth. In her younger years she was involved in politics as a Young Republican, was an entrepreneur, and prided herself on her accomplishments as well as those of her daughters and granddaughters. Later she found what she called her true identity volunteering for the American Indian Cultural Society and becoming our family historian. She was known as Two Feathers to many but was most often called Granny.
Sondra was preceded in death by her husband E.O. McAdams. She is survived by her daughters, Tonita Lynn Guy, Terry Lea Hudgins, and Tracy Lois Bentley (Tom); sisters, Barbara Jo Sullivan and Martha Ann Starke (Richard); granddaughters, Marcia Larsen (Kristopher), Sarah Smith, Cecelia Yeary (Justin), Shannon West (David), and Michelle Ruff (Dennis); and seven darling great-grandchildren.
Granny, as you said to us often, always know you are loved.
Donations may be made in her honor to the American Indian Cultural Society (AICS), P.O. Box 1884, Desoto, TX 75123.
Sondra is interred at the Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park, Mabank, Texas.
