
Eustace, TX. - It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Stan Kirby, a beloved father, husband, and friend. Stan departed this world on August 3, 2023, at the age of 91. While we mourn the loss of Stan, we also celebrate the life he led and the countless memories he created. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished moments that will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on Dec 15,1931 in Caney, Kansas. He was a loving son to Orpha (Tot) Williams Kirby and Lee David Kirby, and a devoted sibling to brother Gary Kirby and sister Pat Richardson.
Stan was a man of many passions and pursuits. He and his wife Beverly were self-employed and co-owners of Action Sales Manufacturer’s Representatives, Inc for over 40 years. They started their business in 1975, covering Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana territories selling to the wholesale building and plumbing trades. Before this, Stan was employed at H.F Woods and associates for 5 years. He also owned his own plumbing, heating, and air conditioning business in Oak Cliff. His dedication, hard work, and attention to detail were an inspiration to all who knew him, and his colleagues held him in the highest regard.
He was a proud member of the steam fitter’s local union 100 for several years and was a military veteran having spent 12 years in the Naval Air Reserves leaving as a 1st Class Petty Officer.
Stan was a member of the Seventh Day Church beginning in 1987, serving as a Church Deacon, facilitating church building projects and remodeling projects. He took pride in his contributions to the Church and Community. A true friend to many, Stan had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His genuine smile, warm heart, and outgoing nature made him a confidant and source of support for countless individuals. Stan’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
He is survived by:
Children: Jan and David Salzman, David and Karla Kirby, Kerry and Marie Kirby.
Stepchildren: Steve and Lisa Hawkins, Russell and Niki Hawkins, Richard and Laurie Hawkins, Karen Hawkins
Grandchildren: Lucas and Amanda Sliwa, Ruston and Kaytlyne Kirby, Stuart and Evan Kirby, Trevor Kirby, Seth Kirby, Matthew Kirby, Kelsey and Javier Herrera
Step Grandchildren: Dustin Hawkins, Erika and Josh Moore, Bo and Britni Hawkins, Justin and Jessica Hawkins, Kacey and Quincy Hopson, Spencer and Taylor Hawkins, Brittney and Chad Elliot, Ashley and Jonathan Soto, Rachel and Rodolfo Viera, Dylan Hawkins
As well as 9 great grandchildren and 21 Great Step Grandchildren
Siblings: Brother Gary Kirby and Sister Pat Richardson
Stan is preceded in death: By his Parents Lee David Kirby and Orpha (Tot) Williams Kirby, his Grandson Victor Sliwa, and his Wife Beverly Kirby
As we bid farewell to Stan, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives, the love he shared, and the indelible mark he left on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live each day with the same passion, love, and generosity that he exemplified.
Rest in peace, Stan. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A private memorial service to be held in Addington, Oklahoma will be announced at a later date.
