

Dr. Foster was born on October 27, 1939 in Dallas, TX, and entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2015 in Trenton, TN at the age of 75. He was the Valedictorian at Winnsboro High School, and also held four degrees: a bachelor’s, two masters and a PhD in math education and problem solving. He taught math for 30 years, wrote hundreds of gospel songs, restored several old homes, and was the self-proclaimed “King of Tangrams.” Tom was a song leader, a Sunday school teacher, and a deacon in the Church of Christ. He was a very loving and caring man who will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents, James Theodore Foster and Jewell Isabell Bartley Foster, and his first wife of more than 47 years, Carolyn Joy Foster.
He is survived by his second wife, Janet McGehee Foster of Trenton, TN; son Eric Lynn Foster and wife Rhonda of Flower Mound, TX; daughter Emily Lorraine Becker and husband Joseph of Hayden, CO; stepchildren Colby Hoefar and wife Tory, and Michelle Baker and husband John; grandchildren Lauren Swanson and husband Ellis, Seth Foster, Megan Foster, Zachary Foster, Morgan Foster, Brannock Hoefar, Wyatt Baker, and Lilly Baker; great-grandchild Elijah Swanson; and other loving family members and many more friends.
