Mr. W.T. Dyer

W.T. Dyer was born February 21, 1939 in Eustace, Texas at the home of his grandparents Troy H. and Johnnie Moseley. He went to school in Payne Springs in what is now the old community center, until he graduated eight grade. W.T. started Mabank High School in the fall of 1953 where he met his wife Billie Wood Dyer. They were married at the home of Doc and Dorothy Brown in Payne Springs, Texas on July 27, 1956. W.T. was a crane operator by trade and a local business owner around the lake area for 25 years. W.T. loved the outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter. He and his buddies would pack up into the mountains of Colorado on pack mules and horses every year and set up camp for a week or so. Among his many prized hunts were mule deer, elk and a bear. He hunted out of state and local, it didn’t matter if it had fur or feathers he loved animals and investing his time in so many young guys that were interested in that lifestyle, because that’s what it was to him, a lifestyle. He was a stern dad but softened up when those grandbabies and great-grandbabies came along.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Billie Wood Dyer of Seven Points, brother John Dyer and wife Audrey of Decatur, daughters; Judy Harrod and Justin Stephenson of Brownsboro, Jana Shelton and Christopher Howell of Gun Barrel City, the ones that called him Paw, his grandchildren; Tera and Stevie Jernigan of Seven Points, Kelly and Jill Harrod of Seven Points, Kristal Bragg of Brownsboro, Misty and John Watts of Brownsboro, Troy and Desi Harrod of Athens, Shana Shelton of McGregor, Katy Shelton of Lorena and Cole and Jordan Shelton of Wiesbaden, Germany, great-grandchildren; Jacob and Kennedy Hamilton, Dakota Hamilton, Kalob Jernigan, Emily Jernigan, B.J. Harrod, Bethany Harrod, Brooklyn Harrod, Garret Bragg, Dalton Caldwell, Kagan Caldwell, Jaden Harrod, Jace Harrod, Jamie and Bailey Soukup, Raynie and Casey Williams and Archer Shelton, many others that W.T. opened his home to, that called him Paw, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred Moseley and Barley Dyer, brother Buddy Dyer, daughter Suzanne Dyer, sister and brother-in-law Lanell and Jack Templin and niece Debbie Boles.
