Alice Jean Streit, 79, of Machesney Park passed away at her home on April 1, 2011. After a short illness. Alice was born on June 21, 1931 in Belvidere and was the daughter of Lillian and Henry Stieg. Alice married James R. Streit on April 7, 1951. Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Alice is survived by her son; Daniel (Judy) Streit of Rockford, brother; Kenneth (Helen) Stieg of Seattle, grandsons; Bradley Streit, and Brian (Heather) Streit of Jacksonville IL, granddaughters; Danielle Streit and Angela Streit of Rockford, great-grandchildren Wesley Streit, Michael Streit and Dillon Streit all of Jacksonville IL. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband; James Streit on November 10, 1992, and 1 sister Evelyn Zaccari. A visitation will be held on Monday April 4, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. at Sunset funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park. With a funeral service immediately following the visitation.
