Athena was married to her children's father for 26 wonderful years and was the proud mother of four children: Michelle Tillet (spouse Jay Tillet), Randall Cregut (spouse Tracy Cregut), Shannon Bitter (spouse April Bitter), and Steven Bitter (spouse Abby Bitter). She also cherished her roles as a grandmother to 12 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 6 great-grandchildren.
An avid lover of cows and butterflies, she enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and line dancing. Her vibrant spirit and joyful heart were recognized by all who knew her. She worked as a bank auditor for 30 years, a profession where she demonstrated her exceptional skills and dedication.
Athena was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bobbie Allen, and was the only child. She had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room.
She is survived by her four children, who lovingly carry on her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the humane society of Winnebago County, IL in Memory of Athena Bitter.
