Billy was born on February 18, 1938 in Drew, MS, the son of Edgar and Leona (Austin) Melton. Billy married Pamela S. Anderson on April 13, 1981. Billy was a bus driver for Rockford Mass Transit, he loved gambling, fishing, bowling and golfing.
Billy is survived by his wife Pamela; sons Billy G. Melton (Kimberly), Tom Melton and Matthew Branch; grandchildren Katie, Lindsey, Cassandra, William, Della and Jason; great-grandchildren Claire and Chloe.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A service to celebrate Billy’s life will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday January 4, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park. Visitation for Billy will be from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment for Billy will be on Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
