Dear Jen and Jeff, and the Hankins family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss...I was writing a condolence for the family of Corky's aunt when I saw Cecil's obituary. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Early 1969 is when Hank and I met. Both of us were stationed at RAF Chicksands in England. A small base used for electronic surveilance outside of Bedford. We became fast friends right away. After our discharges, we both lived in our home areas of N. Ill and Mich's U.P. In the 70's we shared a tubing/camp trip adventure,visit to TheBarn, Betty and my 1st waterbed sleepover and other shenanigans common to 20 somethi...Our moving to Orygun put distance between us geographically. When Hank moved to OR, we had moved to the P.Islands and saw Hank only in '86.  A visit to Maui in May,'11 to see us,we picked up as if 20 odd years were like months. Glad you got to visit our home,Hank. Would have loved for you to show us yours.
But that can wait....

I considered Cecil my "other brother". He was a close friend of my brother Brent and had spent almost every Christmas for the last 20 years -- up until his move with us.  He was great fun and was my supplier of "power tools" which he also showed me how to use.  He made the mistake of saying there was no form of corn he didn't like so it became my goal at Christmas to give him "corn presents".  He will me greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy to the Hankin's family and especially to my good friend, Patti Dunn.  Cecil was a remarkable guy.

Geneva, Brenda and the entire Hankins family, May God Bless and give you His peace to help you through this most difficult time. You will see Cecil againi somewhere "over the Rainbow".

So sorry to hear of his passing, his younger brother is a good friend who thought the world of him & assisted him in the move back to the Rockford area recently. He will be missed!!

Sending prayers to the family. Cecil was such an amazing man, and was so good to my daughter. He treated Mia as if she was his own granddaughter. I'm just glad we got that last dinner together with Cecil and friends before he left for Illinois. He will truly be missed.

I knew Cecil for 15 years and considered him a great friend.  I really enjoyed his company, we had a lot of similar interests. I also worked with him for ten years and I will miss the hell out of him.

Many years and many miles...with great memories of the road trip with Cecil and six others.  We made it out west and back to Rockford in 1973.

Geneva and the entire Hankins family.  My condolences to all of you on the loss of your brother and son. Know that my sympathies are with you all.

 I am saddened by the sudden passing of Cecil.  I worked with Cecil for many years in Eugene Oregon when he was a building inspector. My favorite memory of him is when I took him fishing at my secret honey hole on the Mckenzie River.  The fishing was good, so good in fact, we stayed late into the evening, So late that Cecil caught a bat on a fly rod. Being the sportsman he was he released the bat unharmed, a little worse for wear.  Prior to taking him to the secret hole, I swore him to secrecy, and being the stand up guy he was, its still with him.  My sincere condolences to all his friends and family.

My heart goes out to all of the family for your loss of Cecil.  I will treasure the memories of long ago in honor to him. Special remembrances; My first meeting of Cecil around 1970-1971, the football game at Blackhawk Park, where he flipped to see which team received the ball first, unfortunately, he had flipped Walter, resulting in a broken collar bone. He had organized a troupe of people, quite a herd, to tear down a barn for wood, for the making of, "The Barn", in Freeport. Many years ago, but I still think of Cecil as my friend....I wll pray for you all, for the comfort and healing of this great hurt of the heart.
