Corrin H. Dettmer, 93, of Machesney Park, IL passed away peacefully Monday evening, March 6, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 18, 1929 in Stanley, WI, the daughter of Adolph and Abbie (Carpenter) Wald. Corrin married the love of her life, Arthur Dettmer on July 10, 1948 in Stanley, WI. She was employed by Courtesy Foods, Harlem School District, Bergner’s Distribution Center, By the Dozen Bakery and lastly at Crimson Ridge. Corrin loved playing bingo, Yahtzee and trying her luck going to the casino and playing slot machines. She loved watching Nascar, The Voice, the Hallmark Channel and any of judge shows. Corrin liked collecting lighthouses and cardinals. She adored her family and she will be dearly missed.
Corrin is survived by her children, Mike Dettmer, Harvey Dettmer, Debbie Smeltzer, Daryl Dettmer and Michele Pederson; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Marvyn Wald of San Diego, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, son Byron, son-in-laws, Tom Smeltzer and Mark Pederson, 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
