Dianne Hammer, 86, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at home. Dianne was born on August 12, 1939, to Elmer and Mary (Podzimek) Levy. She graduated from Downers Grove High School. Dianne married the love of her life, Jerry Hammer. Together they built a family of four children. Dianne was a natural caregiver and had a special bond with children. She had a daycare out of her home, and kept in touch with the many children, now adults, that she cared for and loved.
Dianne loved to go fishing whenever she had the chance. She especially loved fishing on her annual trips to Northern Wisconsin and Florida. She would often say, “five more minutes”, which turned into another hour. She had a special talent for ceramics and painting. Dianne was also strong in her faith and attended Heartland Church. It was important for her and those around her to have a relationship with God. Dianne’s top priority was her family and caring for them. Her granddaughter Ashley especially felt this love from Dianne in her short time in her earthly body.
