Donald G. Oliver, 79, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Don was born February 27, 1939 in Columbivill, MI, the son of Donald E. and Cora (Pence) Oliver. He served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Guam. Don married the love of his life, Rebecca Cochran on May 1, 1976 in Rockford. He was a machine operator for many years at Rockford Clutch. Don’s biggest hobby was flying his Piper plane as a private pilot and for anyone that would ride with him. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing in his younger years.
Don is loved and missed by his loving wife, Rebecca; siblings, Van E. (Diane) Oliver, and Debbie (Tom) Walker; special nephews and niece, Dustin Arreguin, Luis, Holli and Rebecca Diaz, Scott Oliver, Shannon Wagner, as well as numerous other special nieces and nephews; special great-nephew, Jason Diaz; sister-in-law, Sue Diaz; brother-in-law, David Cochran. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Jason Paul Oliver, and Flying partner, Tom Furnish

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115.
