Elda was born on August 26, 1926 in Willow Springs, MO, the daughter of Charles and Cora (Green) Hanks. She married Robert N. Scantlin. Elda loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. She loved helping and spending time with all her grandchildren.
Elda is survived by her sons: Larry R. (Susan) Scantlin, Mike (Vicki) Scantlin and David A. (Pamela) Scantlin; four grandchildren; brother Charles Hanks, Jr.
Elda was preceded in death by her husband Robert N. Scantlin, grandson Brandon Scantlin, two brothers and two sisters.
A visitation to celebrate Elda’s life will be from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park. Entombment will be private.
