Ella M. Fromm

Ella M. Fromm, 77, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. Ella was born August 20,1945 in Galena, Illinois, the daughter of Viola and Donald Sterling. Ella was employed by the City of Rockford Water Department until her retirement. She loved crocheting, needle point, shopping, traveling, camping and baking. She was known for her kindness and generosity, giving many of her crocheted goods to the NICU departments as various hospitals. She also will be remembered for her sweet tooth and fondness for peppermints and caramel creams.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; James (Kim) Fromm, and Cyla (Pete) Fromm-Minett, grandchildren; Tyanne Cochran, Tyler Fromm, Tyla Truax, Nicole Minett, and Kyle Minett; her sister, Dorothy Elmore; she is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and extended family members whom she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, her son, David Fromm; her siblings, Eleanore Moore, Beverly White, Audrey Scordato, Tom Sterling.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park with a visitation from 1:00 PM until time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family to be used in Ella's name at a later date.
