Evelyn H. Ballard

Evelyn H. Ballard, 86, Rockford, Il. was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was lovingly looked after by her family while she struggled with Alzheimer’s. Born October 12, 1929 in Cumberland, WI. to George and Mary (Nelson) Barnes. In 1953 she married Howard Ballard and together shared 63 years while raising their five children. Evelyn worked at Warner Lambert for over 30 years. She was an artist and loved to paint landscapes. In the winter they traveled to Arizona where she shared her artistic talents teaching at Glendale Senior Center in Az. She looked forward to their many trips to Hawaii and the splendid times spent traveling the world with her daughter, DiAnn. Evelyn was a charter member of North Park Covenant Church, where she volunteered in many capacities. Evelyn made a career out of loving and caring for her family.

Survivors: husband, Howard, children; Deborah, Steven, DiAnn (Ron) Thebold ; grandchildren, Ann (Mike) Rayborn , Toni Herhold and Connor; great-grandchildren, Kirstyn, Kayla, Trevor, Mercedes. Predeceased by parents; sons, Gary and Howard Jr.; three sisters and seven brothers.

Services: 11:00 a.m. on Fri. May 27 at North Park Covenant Church 540 Superior Ave. Machesney Park, Il. Visitation: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial at Sunsert Memorial Gardens.
