Gloria Kernan, formally of Rockford, passed away at her residence in Florida on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Born December 10, 1939 in Ramsey, IL the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Long) McFarland. She worked as a secretary at Elco for 19 years before co-owning Oakview Restaurant. Survivors include her children Mark (Becky) Luse, Cindy (Rick) Twine, Kim (Barry Matthews) Ward, Jeanetta (Allan) Sinks, grandchildren, Jessica and Kyle Luse, Adam Twine, Eric, Cindy, Rebecca, Racheal, Roberta, Robert, companion of 25 years Burdette Brauer and her special friend Pauline Gittleson, brother Richard (Ardith) McFarland, sister, Georgie White and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, one brother and one sister. Services will be 10:00 am Monday, October 25, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Visitation will be 3-6 pm Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
