Herminia Mandujano, aged 70, of Rockford, Illinois, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on December 17, 2025. She was born November 20, 1955 to Alfonso Manriquez Mandujano and Ynosencia Mandujano Carmona in Mexico. She worked for many years for Rockford College. Herminia enjoyed gardening, sewing, and knitting. Herminia loved to travel back home to Mexico and new places. Most of all, Herminia was a very loving, caring, and selfless person, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Herminia is survived by her husband, Antonio Mandujano; children, Maria (Jose Juan) Alvarado, Rene (Blanca) Mandujano, Esmeralda (Jose Peña) Mandujano, and Adriana (Taurus Black) Mandujano; grandchildren, Jonathan (Michaela) Alvarado, Lyzmari Alvarado, Adamaris Alvarado, Noah Mandujano, Julian Peña, Jonah Mandujano, Joseph Peña, Emerald Peña, and Jakim Peña; siblings, Roberto Manriquez, Maria Elena Manriquez Mandujano, Vicente Manriquez, and Maria del Carmen Jimenez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Ynosencia Manriquez; and siblings, Juventino Manriquez and Camilo Manriquez.
A visitation for Herminia will be held on Friday, December 26 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, December 27 at 10:00 am at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St, Rockford, IL 61109. Entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
