Jaime Guerrero Sr., 83, of Rockford, IL passed away on November 19, 2020. Born in San Jose Agua Azul, Gto, Mexico on April 10, 1937 to Ysaias and Paz Guerrero. Jaime came to the Rockford area in 1956; shortly after he met the love of his life, Concepcion Valdez and they married on July 3rd, 1963. Everyone knew him as a hardworking man who was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Along with his devotion to his family he was deeply devoted to his church, la Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispanoamericana. In his free time Jaime enjoyed gardening, woodworking, baseball, and rehabbing houses but there was nothing he loved more than his family.
Jaime is survived by his wife, Concepcion Guerrero; children, Rosa (Marvin) Stout, Diana (Martin) Rodriguez, Carolina Guerrero, Betty Guerrero, and Jaime (Greysi) Guerrero Jr.; grandchildren, Rebekah, Breana (Ryan) Lezlie, Joshua, Anna (Alex), Martin, Sarai, Jaime O., Jacob, and Nohely; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws, Guadalupe Valdez and Efrain Cardenas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ysaias and Paz Guerrero; siblings, Hipolito, Blanca, Graciela, Catalina, Carolina, and Abel.
A Walk Through Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 4pm- 7pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A Private Family Service will take place the following day, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10am that can be viewed via livestream at https://m.facebook.com/SunsetFuneralHomeIL.
